On 28 August at around 7:30 a black VW Polo collided with a blue Honda Jazz on Main Road, Primrose. Terence Teixeira from the Matrix Road Safety Association, who arrived on the scene, believes the Polo had stopped at a stop street and wanted to turn into a busy road. “It is suspected that the Polo under-estimated the opportunity to turn into the busy road and collided with the Honda Jazz. Both drivers were injured in the collision,” he reports.
The Matrix Road Safety Association response vehicle arrived on the scene and the on board medic assisted a fellow Emer-G-Med medic already on scene.
“The patients were transported to a nearby hospital with light injuries,” says Teixeira.
He urges drivers to rather wait a few minutes longer for a bigger gap than taking the chance when entering a busy stream of traffic. “A few minutes extra could mean the difference between being involved in an accident and avoiding one. I urge motorists to be patient and continuously on the alert for possible hazards situations,” he says.
